Mesomorph is a body type wherein the individuals have a higher percentage of muscle development than body fat according to American psychologist W.H. Sheldon. People with mesomorph body type have an athletic physique with large bone structure and large muscles. People with this type of body are generally very strong and can fight anything. They are neither overweight nor underweight, they have a perfect combination of body type for becoming an athlete person. People with mesomorph body don’t need to be worried about their body size, they can either put on weight or lose weight very easily and quickly. The other types of body type apart from Mesomorph are Ectomorphs and Endomorphs.
Diet for the mesomorph body type
People with mesomorph body type require more calories ad higher proteins as compared to other normal body types because they have higher muscle mass. It is very important that the mesomorph body type people consume the right amount of protein and nutrients to keep their body in shape and healthy. A healthy diet for mesomorph body type is one-third protein, one-third vegetables and one-third whole grain carbohydrates. The diet of a mesomorph body should include the following.
- Protein – The body requires high proteins which give the body the required fuels to repair the muscle. The protein diet for mesomorph should include eggs, white meats, fish, beans, Greek yoghurt, and high protein dairy products.
- Fruits and vegetables – Fruits and vegetables with their skin produce fibre, antioxidants, and phytochemicals which boost the immune system and muscle repair. Fruits and vegetables are the basic need for any human being to increase the stamina and to stay healthy. It should be consumed with skins rather than added sugar and salt.
- Whole grains – Whole grains such as brown rice and oatmeal are a very strong way to stay healthy and fit. They provide the body with the required nutrients and vitamins.
- Fats – The consumption of fats should be very selective. The person needs to make the right choice of healthy fats in the market. Coconut oil, olive oil, avocado, nuts, and seeds are some of the examples of right fats for the body.
